The clinical appearance of hypopituitarism may be complicated. Patients with large tumours that secrete prolactin, GH or ACTH may have hypopituitarism despite oversecretion of one particular hormone. Thus, in the acromegalic patient shown in Fig. 2.16, the pallor and texture of the skin are consistent with coexistent hypopituitansm.
